Review of The Ice Storm (1997) by Steve C — 29 Aug 2007
Another great Ang Lee film, this time a family story set in suburban 1970s. The story is directed with Ang Lee's trademark style of gentle, old school style of storytelling with hints of humor all around.
Yet the plot is pretty serious when it is all said and done. Although not a masterpiece like CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON, The Ice Storm is still one of the better urban family dramas of the 90s worth checking out.
