Review of The Ice Harvest (2005) by Jon S — 15 Jul 2007
I went to see the Ice Harvest last night with a group of people and again today with a friend. Last night I thought that it was hilariously funny in a very dark comedy way (which I love). It wasn't quite as funny the second time, but that could be because I seemed to be the only one in theatre laughing.
John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton are a riot and the banter beteen them is the best part of the movie. I don't think that Oliver Platt was at his best, but I'm sure that it's not too interesting to play being drunk through the whole film.
The characters were well developed and Cusak's is somewhat sympathetic. It won't make my top five movies of the year, but it was good.
