One of the classic films, and THE pool movie, with Newman in his greatest role as Fast Eddie, and stellar supporting work by George C. Scott, Jackie Gleason (perfectly cast as the real life Minnesota Fats), and Piper Laurie.
Profound observations on human character and loyalty, and no love of the game needed to enjoy it.
