I saw The Hustler and I think it was the best pool movie in the history of the whole cinema. I wonder before Paul Newman was shooting this movie he really was this good in pool. I know Jackie Gleason was but I am not sure if Paul Newman did.
It was very funny and very sad. After I saw this movie I wanted to buy a pool table...and I did. I got so addicted to pool after I saw this movie. I played pool twenty four seven. After you see this movie you will be obsessed with pool for life.
Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason was this movie. The battles of "Fast Eddie" and "Minnesota Fats" were the best parts of that film. I bet 100% of people who saw this movie became obsessed with their characters and playing the game of pool.
This is probably Paul Newman's best sports movie performance. 8 Stars.
