Review of The Hustler (1961) by Trevor R — 31 Mar 2013
Paul Newman delivers one of the all-time great film performances as the titular hustler. This is a masterful character study, tragic and thought-provoking, and full of memorable and moody moments (particularly the two major pool games against a cool and reserved Jackie Gleason).
George C. Scott and Piper Laurie are both terrific. An amazing movie.
