Review of The Hustler (1961) by Alberto G — 23 Jun 2013
This might be hard to believe, but this is the first Paul Newman movie I have ever seen, and boy, did I pick the right one! The Hustler is indeed, an instant classic. The depth of the human pain is so vividly portrayed in this movie by all of the characters, that you feel sorrow for them even at the moments you should be feeling happy.
The movie was beautifully shot and paced, while the pool scenes were truly amazing. This is the kind of movie that you fall in love with for so many different reasons, even if it is painful to watch at times.
