Review of The Hustler (1961) by Vincent C — 02 Jun 2010
A tragic drama that gradually unfolds. It is almost like watching a train-wreck. You can't help but watch it to see what will happen, even though it is uncomfortable.
The real surprise of the film was Jackie Gleason. I had only watched him in the Honeymooners, so I had no idea that he could work a dramatic role as well as comedy.
I highly recommend this film.
