Review of The Hurt Locker (2008) by Tomas S — 15 Jan 2013
Great war movie. Suspense is executed excellently, specially because the viewer is submerged into a very realistic-looking (no idea how it compares to the real thing) combat. When the bombs are not ticking, there's a sniper ready to kill off any of the protagonists.
The movie succeeds in making you want it to finish as soon as possible, thus reducing the casualties. Still, not convinced with the character development, specially since they had two hours for just three soldiers.
There's the super-hero, the young candidate for PTSD and the black guy, who can be all he can be, except as good as the white guy.
