Review of The Hurt Locker (2008) by Brian S — 23 Oct 2018
Katherine Bigelow, who also directed Detroit (2017), definitely has a talented eye for telling a compelling and fascinating story. And I think it's safe to say that this film is one of the best war movies ever made.
It's not really you're average film either, where everything goes according to plan, or ends happily, The Hurt Locker is a bold and extremely realistic portrayal of the Iraq war, and held together by excellent performances by Jeremy Renner and Anthony Mackie.
The study of the human condition and it's deterioration is also very well done, and overall, I'm not surprised that this pic won several Oscars, including one for best picture. Great movie and recommended!!
