Review of The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) by Vero W — 23 Jul 2017
EXTENDED CUT.
Aesthetically it achieves the same feat as its predecessor with an eye catching production, but suffers the exact same issues with being incredibly bland. Performances are ok with Hemsworth and Chastain having a decent dynamic but unfortunately the amount of times their eternal love is the forefront it becomes slightly sickening to behold. Blunt and Theron are boring and bland with no direction at all and just feel so forced and coerced into these roles. Especially the latter who is only really in this for more box office draw. The inclusion of the Snow White character felt incredibly lacklustre and shoehorned, it didn't need to be included and a reference would have sufficed.
