Review of The Hunter (1980) by Matthew C — 03 Mar 2011
McQueen's final film is pretty standard stuff for the veteran tough-guy. He plays a slightly stupid, past obsessed sort of good'ol boy with a heart of gold. A bunch of fun character actors pop up for some fun, and career creep Tracey Walter is over the top crazy as a hood who wants revenge.
While not amazing, McQueen fans should find plenty to like. And there is a pretty cool chase through Chicago near the end of the film, with real stunts.
