Review of The Hunt for Red October (1990) by Alan M — 07 Feb 2009
Oddly, while I really enjoy a good action film, I'm not into military films at all. However, something about Red October really got me. It's near the top of my most-times watched list. I really like Sean Connery in this role, and this probably the only role I've ever like Alec Baldwin in.
I think mainly I like this one because it's more of a character-study than a military film. I like the mood and unpredictable plot. This movie got me hooked on Tom Clancy fiction, and I think it's the only movie I've invited my Dad to go see with me, just the two of us.
