Review of The Hunt (2013) by Paolo R — 12 Dec 2012
A simple story, artfully told... an accusation... an investigation... the recriminations. Can a male nursery assistant ever be anything other than suspicious? When children talk are they always unable to lie? What does a close-knit community do when one of its number appears to have committed the most heinous of crimes? Mads Mikkelsen navigates the entire film with enough ambiguity to keep the question at the forefront of your mind, and there are enough tense moments where the audience is asked to challenge its own prejudices.
