Review of The Hunt (2013) by A I — 15 Jan 2014
How do you make a successful movie? Put one Mads Mikkelsen as your lead. Perhaps the world's finest actor strikes again in a movie that will often leave you shaking your head.
This time, Mikkelsen is a kindergarten teacher of sorts. He is also the neighbor of a somewhat dysfunctional family, and part of a group of bros that readily celebrates its bromance. All that changes when the daughter of the neighbor makes an allegation.
Tremendous use of dramatic irony. All along, we the viewer know what has happened. As the problem grows and grows - from being possibly to likely to more than likely, and from one child to many - all we can do is watch and see how the characters on screen will react.
Can't say much more, but this is just another outstanding Danish film, and another one featuring Mikkelsen in the lead. Rated No. 134 of all-time on imdb, and I'd throw it an 8.5/10.
