Review of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 (2015) by Kara B — 21 Mar 2016
Warning Spoilers below!!!!
I read the books and enjoyed the first 2 books and movies. I went into this movie knowing the 3rd installment wasn't going to be my favorite because honestly the book kind of sucked. One of those ending of a series you are left feeling totally unfullfilled and annoyed. The good news is that this movie lived up to my views of the last book, although they managed to screw it up even more than the author did. Through out the movie they did a few things better and a few things significantly worse (Warning again don't read further if you don't want to read spoilers).
What completely disgusted me was the ending of this movie. In the book Katniss has a mental break, Gayle bails on her to go fight the good fight and of course Peeta is happy to care for Katniss. In the movie they litterally have them in a field, happily ever after with 2 kids. Why does Hollywood have to put a pretty little bow on everything. One of the better plots in the plotless book was the fact that Katniss just couldn't handle everything she went through mentally. It brought a little realness to the book. Total waste of my 2 hrs.
