Review of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) by Corinna O — 02 Oct 2014
The second film was incredible. I watched the film remembering the quotes from the book even though it was a year since I read it. I felt that you couldn't compare the first with the second because they were both good in different ways.
This is one of the first films that I have seen twice with two weeks difference between watching and I have to say that my reaction was still the same. This is how you tell that this is an incredible franchise with incredible actors.
You felt like you were in the film. I was left feeling shock and amazed. This is also a film that you can watch again and again and never get bored of it. Jennifer Lawrence performance was incredible in this film and in this film, she had to show Katniss in the aftermath of the games and the emotional trauma that came with it and Jennifer showed it in the character really well in here.
There are some changes from the film to the book that when I heard about, it made me a bit upset like when in the book, Peeta has a prosthetic leg after the games and in this film, they just made it seem like a wound that healed quickly but it actually worked because in the books, you just see Peeta as this weak boy but in the film, it shows that he can also fend for himself.
You also get to see more Eddie in this film which made it good as Elizabeth Banks plays the role like no other person could do it well apart from her. The film was also much better than the book which is something that you don't see nowadays when books are being adapted to films and this is because no one has a director like Francis Lawrence who knows his audience and what they want.
Can't wait for Mockingjay to come out even though it is going to be into two parts.
