Review of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) by Scott R — 25 Oct 2014
Like has been said, the irony of this movie made to placate the masses is the same thing president snow does in holding the actual games. This movie is a failed attempt to suppress liberty. I found myself laughing at this and many other things during this movie.
For instance, so many stories and things here have been stolen from other movies, battle royal (this one witch cheese), poisonous fog, big brother always watching, revolution from tyranny, game shows playing with lives, among others.
It is a shame that it is so predictable and weak, for the cast is not bad. Also, there was too much going on to make me care about all the characters, who supposedly were important, that we're dying. I didn't have any tie to any of them, especially peeta, the man named after PETA. What a horrible name.
Mark my words, this film was not good and will be forgotten, that is unless the books are much better. I may have to read them to see if they are in order to see if my theory holds up.
