Review of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) by Stephen I — 26 Jan 2016
Smarter and faster paced than the first installment, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire provides great action set alongside smart, thoughtful themes.
Full Review: The Hunger Games had a straightforward plot that made it easy to enjoy. the sequel didn't quite have that luxury, so they smarty put the action that made its predecessor a hit in a deeper, more emotional subtext. Catching Fire emphasizes on the 'rebellion' dynamic that lasts throughout the movie. this allows for emotional sequences that are elevated by strong performances, particularly from Jennifer Lawrence. It also provides the action and suspense we love, resulting in a smart and very satisfying sequel.
