Review of The Hunger Games (2012) by Everett D — 02 Jun 2014
It starts out as a somewhat optimistic but mostly unnerving countdown to hell, and begins it's much different second half with a frightening fight for survival, and what I think gets many people to dislike it is for it's choice of realism over being cinematic.
For me, however, I enjoy that trait mainly because it makes it unable to be compared with Harry Potter or Twilight.
