Gary Ross does a great job bringing the book to life, capturing the dark scary tone of having kids fight to the death. Fans of the book will love the movie of how well done the book to movie adaptation is.
Although a good majority of the movie is not filmed well, it does give the dystopian society more darkness. At some points the movie feels rushed but makes up for it by giving great acting, and action.
