Review of The Hunger Games (2012) by Mandy%20 D — 06 Dec 2018
A insight of the life of a tortured teen.
A movie review on The Hunger Games the movie directed by Gary Ross.
Have you ever had to risk everything to save someone you love? The Hunger Games, is a movie based on the book by Suzanne Collins. Directed by Gary Ross, the movie, which is a science fiction thriller, is an astonishing story told through the perspective of a young teen girl named Katniss Everdeen. The Hunger Games is a movie about a game which two children from each of the 12 districts is chosen to go into a killing battle where there is only one winner. Katniss has a dynamic role in the movie, because when prim, her sister, is drafted to the games, Katniss volunteers as tribute, which changes the plot completely. Although the movie The Hunger Games, makes you feel extreme emotions such as excitement and intensity, it's also extremely sad and it's very complex, forcing you to really focus to fully understand everything going on during the movie.
Overall, Hunger Games, the movie shows many good and interesting emotions. One emotion being, intensity. This movie shows an absurd amount of intensity because of everything going on around Katniss and everyone in her life. Katniss goes into the games as the underdog, but soon becomes close to the top of the totem pole. The intense training and fighting scenes keep you on the edge of your seat at all times constantly wanting to see what happens next. While all of this intensity is going on, excitement also rushes through you. The movie shows you more visuals and helps you connect to the story better than the book. During the movie, just like the book, you can't stop watching it. Overall this movie is worth watching.
On the other hand, The Hunger Games is a very sad and depressing story. Throughout the whole movie, there is never one moment that doesn't get ruined by bad news or something bad that happens. It shows how their world is horrible, how the hunger games is a dumb concept, and how Katniss is struggling in the games. Also The Hunger Games is very complex and it forces you to watch the movie carefully and understand every detail that happens throughout to fully understand what is happening in the movie. Basically, the plot is very hard to follow and I would suggest that you set aside a time to watch it in full. This could also be a fabulous thing, but for people from the ages of 10-16 it is probably a inconvenience.
In the end, The Hunger Games is an amazing movie and I would definitely recommend it to anyone 10 years and older. I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars in the end because although It was very excitement filled and intense, but it takes a great deal of focus and maturity to be able to watch it.
Rating: ? stars.
