Review of The Human Stain (2003) by G C — 08 Jun 2008
I think the best scenes are towards the start of the film with Anthony Hopkins.. once the relationships start, idk.. I like Nicole Kidman but her performance didn't play off well with Anthony. I just wasn't buying the chemistry between them.. it seemed forced. however they did all they could with their roles! Wentworth Miller was nice addition.. he plays his role fine & tho I don't think anyone thinks that he even remotely resembles Anthony Hopkins.. who cares. we know it's a movie. the relationship between him & his wife in the past is nuthin but sweet! they do connect a little better then Anthony & Nicole do!
However, neither of the younger cast can match Nicole or Anthony any day. & Gary Sinise gave the most effective performance in the movie! for me it was the story that let me down. never really grabbed me. & for that I have to say that this movie is a bit of a let down.
Not really worth your money but good acting.
