Review of The Human Stain (2003) by Michael L — 11 Nov 2009
Compelling story with good acting, but perhaps miscast and misguided. Shifting from the present to the past, the story focuses on the tragic Coleman, who starts a relationship with a troubled younger woman.
As their relationship develops, their past begins to haunt them both as they reveal their secrets to one another. While the film has its shocking and dramatic moments, it is not fully satisfying. Perhaps the book is better.
