Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Eric B — 09 Jan 2010
I'd never heard of this Coen brothers' film until I stumbled upon it on tv today. I wish I hadn't watched the trailer as there were too many spoilers. Still, I don't think it's one of their best, compared to No Country For Old Men or Fargo.
It's reminiscent of other films, such as Brazil, Batman, Who Killed Roger Rabbit and others.
The sets were great.
For me the pace of this film was too slow, and Anna Nicole Smith's character grated on me, or was it her delivery? Tim Robbins seemed to be doing Tom Hanks doing Norville.
