Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Ben S — 04 Dec 2008
A weird but thoroughly enjoyable movie from the masters of weird but thoroughly enjoyable movies. It's one of those rare films I could probably watch every day and not get tired of it. Great performances by every single cast member, beautiful sets, (ever heard of that videogame "Bioshock"? It's like that but before everything went to hell), and a bizarre plot line with the mystic undertones we've come to expect from Coen brothers movies.
Snappy, almost cartoonish, period dialog rattles around in every scene, again, something we're used to seeing in Coen bros. movies, and it still shines here. Just a great, underrated, classic movie that I love endlessly.
