Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Jess K — 26 Dec 2008
Can a film be underrated if everyone says it's underrated? Nonetheless, this is one of the Coens' lesser known but not lesser quality films. Filled with all the brothers' trademarks: quirky and memorable characters, pitch perfect dialogue (this time mimicking the pace and cadence of the 1950's), a twisting and inventive plot, and distinct visual flair.
It's a bit lighter than a lot of their work but definitely Coens, just maybe, you know... for kids.
