Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Seth M — 29 Jun 2009
I absolutely love this film! Jennifer Jason Leigh's fast-talkin' reporter who doesn't care, Tim Robbin's innocent genuis, Paul Newman's gruff begrudged corporate villain and Charles Durning infuse the film with their great character performances.
The fantasy aspect completes this humorous tale that deserves a place in the modern day folk-lore. The Coen Bros. have outdone themselves with this one. Carter Burwell's score interwoven with Khachaturian's Spartacus ballet music is inspired.
Highly recommend.
