Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Erick F — 20 Aug 2010
A damn fine movie. It is cool to see the Coen Brothers tackle the rags to riches story like this. Typical genre manipulation stuff that you always get from Coen Brothers. Also their love for everything midwest and 50s really shine through in this film.
Paul Newman does a damn good job as his roll. Perfect character for him to play. Tim Robbins does an excellent job. My only issue was that, you kind of always knew where the story was going because the Coen Brothers shamelessly followed formula.
So at times, it could get a bit typical. Other then that, a damn fine movie. Good Concept, Good Execution!
