This was labeled as a thriller, but you always know more of what's going on than the protagonist, so I'd say more of a dark comedy with an unfortunate helping of melodrama. Really lush cinematography.
Some sexiness in the beginning. Somewhat amusing characters. Very watchable, but not really a great story. Curious about the original...
