Review of The House on Sorority Row (1982) by Larry G — 22 May 2010
I watched the remake a few weeks ago and now I watched the original one. Let's just cut to the chase; it's a lot better. The beginning is jarring and strange, with an odd color mask laid over it, and then the music is just kind of unfitting, being too pompous for this kind of movie. But otherwise, this is a pretty good flick; pure slasher joy. The characters are fun and it's fun to be scared watching them picked off. And toward the end it actually gets really depraved and spooky, more than what I was expecting.
Although I don't think a gun would literally go off that many times, guys. I mean that's got to be the most sensitive fucking gun ever.
