Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Nicole C — 03 Jun 2010
I really enjoyed this movie since it reminded me of those 70's/80's horror movies I used to watch late at night...it's an obvious throwback to that era. Everything is very 80's from the clothes to the red boothed pizza parlor to the music (yeah, the Fixx! BOC!) the big ass walkmen that Samantha uses in the film.
It takes it sweet time in the beginning, which is TOTALLY awesome (quoting the 80's here) because that's how those movies used to be. Jocelin Donahue reminded me of Karen Allen and it was cool to see Dee Wallace (not Stone anymore) in a cameo.
Creepy...I'm a little disappointed by resolution, but I actually think I used to be with those old horror classics, too.
