Review of The House of the Devil (2009) by Simon D — 14 Oct 2010

I understand that this was a homage to the horror films of the 70's and 80's and many of them didn't make sense either but, call me a nitpicker, when a film claims it's based on true events, I expect that to be possible.

Bearing in mind what the final scenes show us, it doesn't look possible and if it were true then surely somebody, somewhere would know something about the case, which also doesn't seem to be the case.

As a horror film, the ending is indeed a novel ending but the build up is so slow and cliched that it sent me to sleep.
