Review of The House of Mirth (2000) by Sarah D — 01 Sep 2008
I actually saw it twice, and I hate every single character in it. every one is either vile, or extremely selfish, or foolish, or cold-hearted, or stupidly" good-hearted". how can anybody be possibly living in a world like that?! and I hate gillian anderson's so-called" faint smile" every time she faces an" desperate" or" disappointing" situation, so artificial! so boring! and I hate her right eyebrow, so obviously copying vivien leigh! so disgusting.
and her beloved mr.selton, what's the matter with him? why can't he marry her while she still has her" reputaion"? anyway I bought the book now, and I hope that would make some difference, or make me understand the real situation better.
