Review of The House I Live In (2012) by Ryan O — 01 Jun 2013
The House I Live in is from the same director who made the excellent - "Why We Fight" documentary. This time, however, Eugene Jarecki examines the miserably failed War on Drugs. This is a very compelling film examining not only the beginnings of the War on Drugs, but the drug dealers, the addicts, and the ever evolving policies that seem to make things worse, not better.
There is some strong journalistic investigation on display here and this should be mandatory viewing for every American. Is there a solution to the problem? Sure, I think there is, but we need to look at the problem from a different viewpoint. Outstanding.
