Review of The House (2017) by Nice R — 26 Oct 2018
When the town council revokes their daughter's college scholarship, the Johansens (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) partner with a friend to open up an underground casino in order to earn the money. The jokes are there, but inconsistent and not that clever, meaning that the fun premise feels more like a missed opportunity.
And there are plot loopholes galore. Probably not bad enough for its straight to streaming release, but not fantastic either.
