Review of The Hours (2002) by Juli R — 26 Feb 2011
The Hours is about how Virginia Woolf's Mrs Dalloway affected three generations of women. These three stories are threads, and the plot has a reveal at the end where two of the threads are woven together.
This twist feels contrived, and a better film would have skipped it. This film is beautifully acted, but there is a lot of feminist posturing, and the characters are literary conceits.
