Ethan Hawke did a very good job at adapting his own novel (which I read and enjoyed) and directing the cast in this slow-moving film about first love. Catalina Sandino Moreno was charming in her role as Sara, William's first major love, but the actor chosen to portray William (Mark Webber) was so unappealing & unkempt with such awful hair that I couldn't get over the fact that I couldn't believe that any pretty girl would want to sleep with him.
Webber's acting was fine but he looked dirty throughout the entire film and kind of made me go "Eewww"!
