Review of The Host (2006) by João A — 30 Aug 2009
Since Godzilla was birthed by the atomic bomb, cinema's giant beasties have been used to interrogate the (often) war-related fears of a society. "The Host" is self-aware enough to wear these concerns on its sleeve; the film is more than a little about American bravado and interventionism.
Also, it's just a damned entertaining monster movie.
