Review of The Host (2006) by Brandon V — 25 Sep 2010
Joon-ho Bung does so much here that it's just too hard to sum it up in a short review. Besides being a good monster movie that often spoofs itself, The Host is one of the most impressive pieces of satire I have ever seen.
The creature effects aren't too great, but the monster stuff was the least cool part about this movie. The Host is subtly hilarious as it comments on the social state of the world and as it cleverly spoofs elements of the monster movie sub-genre.
