Review of The Host (2006) by Nicolas E — 04 Feb 2011
The Host is one of the most intense, emotional, and well executed monster movies of all time. I can scarcely think of a movie that blends such a perfect score, sense of dread and uneasiness, and the occasional laugh to the perfect effect that The Host manages to pull off.
And while it certainly is a political satire underneath all of the fun and horror, The Host never ceases to be entertaining. I feel comfortable in saying that The Host is just about as close to the "perfect" monster movie as we'll get.
