Review of The Host (2006) by Nayeli J — 27 May 2011
I really enjoyed the movie. It was fun and funny. The way the monster runs up to the screen the first time is brilliant because he is in the background of the shot and quickly makes his way as humans are tossed right and left.
Not a very Hollywood entrance=brilliant. There's humor where you don't expect it. At the memorial service I know it's supposed to be sad and I feel a little guilty laughing at the family's display.
I guess that's what they mean by black humor. The dull-witted loser father, played by Song Kang-Ho, is a very differently styled antihero and thoroughly enjoyable.
