Review of The Host (2006) by Carlos D — 17 Jun 2015
I haven't quite seen a monster film like this ever. It's told from the perspective of a usual citizen father who works in a candy/food shop, who looses his daughter to a giant mutated fish caused by chemical emission.
Every character has a backstory that are well told through dialouge without being expositional or through different qs`. It is told in a different style while being well shot and has a pretty great soundtrack.
Somethings are a little convenient but it doesn't shy away from being realistic and the most of these things could and would propably happen. Well acted with a great and dark comedic script, while it's thrilling, entertaining and emotional.
It plays with your emotion and does it well.
