Review of The Horse Whisperer (1998) by Manon M — 24 Jul 2010
The horse whisperer is a highly emotional film with a srong cast, bringing up the critical topic of traumatic experiences and the consequences for oneself and one's family. The love story developped here, is one that truly caught me.
It's not clichéd or over-sentimental, it's simply about the deep connection between two people who can't be with each other. Robert Redford made it possible for the audience to feel the connection those two people share and yet to understand their decisions in the end.
Scarlet Johansson proved in this film that she is a talented young actress and despite her young age she is keeping up very well with Redford and Thomas. Redford's film is full of beautiful landscapes and strong emotions that shouldn't be watched in a hurry.
So take your time while watching this film, it is absolutely worth it. I seriously love this film with all my heart.
