A film that seems to have been made just for the sake of it. Although it shows the hardships of the time, it isn't nearly harrowing enough to have a lasting impact, and any 'female empowerment' is undone by the end.
Good acting and scenery throughout, but the plot is slow, develops slowly, and the set pieces seem to just happen to pass the time.
