Review of The Homesman (2014) by Jack G — 25 Mar 2015
At times incredibly stunning visually and "TL Jones" is as good as he's ever been (albeit playing a Western version of Grumpy Cat - believe me, the meme isn't wrong) along with Hilary Swank digging deep to deliver great work.
.. but the script is uneven, and there's a plot twist 2/3rds of the way through that is sort of explained but not at all at the same time, and it leaves the film with a gaping tragedy that can never quite be filled.
