Review of The Home Song Stories (2007) by Yu C — 16 Apr 2008
THE best Australian film by far in 2007. Tony Ayre's writes and directs this masterpiece, which is a true story about his life. The performances in the film are so real and the story so well written it leaves your blood pumping whilst glued to the edge of your seat.
Irene Chen gives an AFI award winning performance as Rose, a fragile woman in her fourties who arrives to Australia in the 70's. A must see film for anyone who likes and even dislikes timeless tales.
This film is up there with the very best crop of films of all time. A big call, but a true one. Five Stars.
