Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Ethan Y — 06 Feb 2009
The Holy Mountain contains some of the most jarring imagery and beautiful cinematography ever put to film. Jodorowsky's dense, deep, existential odyssey is sometimes hard to watch, but almost always rewarding.
There are moments of grand self indulgence that hinder the overall experience, but you'd be hard pressed to find a film with more to say and as inventive a way of saying it.
