Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Brandon S — 25 Apr 2010
Alejandro Jodorowsky's mindblowing shocker masterpiece, that is jammed packed with insane imagery. Not a lot in the plot department, but an alchemist played by Jodorowsky assembles all the supreme beings of the solar system to take a journey to the Holy Mountain.
Make whatever you will out of this one, but the strong use of symbolism and style can't be denied the film is a high achievement for the arthouse crowd.
