Review of The Hollars (2016) by Kris M — 07 Sep 2016
Critics are stupid. Seriously. This is a GREAT little film, full of heart. The show was so funny, everybody in our audience was laughing. Margo Martinadale is wonderful as the mother -- she's just so funny, and her close relationship with her son (John Krasinski) is totally what would be real for a close mother/son relationship.
Josh Groban does a very respectable job as a youth pastor, and Richard Jenkins continues his trajectory as one of the world's best and least recognized actors. I haven't seen ANYTHING this man has done that wasn't perfect.
Anna Kendrick does another great job as John Krasinski's love interest, and the comedy from Charlie Day and Sharlto Copley really clinched this movie as incredibly enjoyable from beginning to end.
DON'T LISTEN TO THE CRITICS! They have no soul! Go see this thing -- you'll be glad you did!
