Review of The Holiday (2006) by Jake C — 18 Jan 2013
The story is about two women named Amanda played by Cameron Diaz who is from L.A. and Iris played by Kate Winslet who is from England while both depressed and disappointed about their love life, they meet at a website where they can exchange houses for vacations.
They agree to spend their Christmas in each other's homes and they suffer from getting used to each other's culture, hey are both lucky enough to be involved with a man. Iris makes the acquaintance of Miles played by Jack Black while Amanda spends time with Graham played by Jude Law.
Both women must decide what to do before their house-switching vacation ends in less than two weeks. The film is a very touching, emotional, funny, romantic, sweet, playful, charming, delightful and beautiful.
I loved all the actors in the film although I thought Edward Burns was a bit of an asshole which is quite nitpicky. I never experienced this much feelings in a romantic-comedy for a long time and this movie really shows and I never had this much fun with all the actors and actresses in a movie before again for a long time and this movie really shows.
This movie is amazing in every way and I just don't understand why so many critics just seemingly don't like this movie. Why? Just Why? Why is there so much hatred to this almost perfect film? The Holiday (2006) gets a 9.
9/10.
